WOW!! That really is something!! Be sure to watch the hot dog video.
watch the videos on the left.... unbelievable
For all you woodworkers, and safety enthusiasts, check out this 10" table saw, the Saw Stop, at the website below. Be sure to watch the "hot dog" video. The saw is able to sense conductivity of any material other than wood [like, nails, burls, fingers] and stop the blade within milliseconds. You don't have to own one or be interested in one to appreciate the design features of this toy.

That is a truly amazing application of technology. 0 -
60,000 table saw injuries per year. Sounds like Congress needs to get involved and ban them. At the very least have a 5 day waiting period to keep them out of the wrong hands. 0 -
Well I guess there will be no more movies made about "saw". [^] 0 -

Wow!! I wonder how it cuts! I'd like to have one, provided that it cuts well. If it doesn't cut well, then all the safety features in the world don't mean squat.0 -
I know you can't put a price on safety, but that thing sure ain't cheap! 0 -

That's not a bad price at all for a good shop saw! I'll be getting one for my next shop if I can get the opportunity to see how well it cuts first.0 -
That's really cool. 0 -
Just think, losing just one finger would be worth the price of the saw. That is some safety feature I would like to have. 0 -
That would have saved my grandpa two fingers[:0][:0] 0 -
They tried to sell the technology to the big companies several times and tried to get regulation but to no avail, the big companies wont add it because of re-tooling they don't feel people will pay the extra price.
Especially if they all don't do it if just one doesn't do it he will have a corner on the market on cheep saws.
The technology has been around for several years if not quite a while, I saw a show about it over a year ago if not 2.
Sorry if it said any of that in the video I have just seen it on tv before and don't have the time to watch that at the moment especially since I know what it is.0 -
[8D]--Wait till they do that to bullets !!!

I think I'll be getting one when I buy a full size saw. 0
