Anyone got one, or had a chance to shoot one yet? Thinking about buying one, price is very attractive, worried about feed problems. I had a Charles Daly 1911, complete P.O.S. IMO

    Anybody read the article in American Rifleman about this pistol? Doesn't sound too bad!! Anybody held one, shot one? I still like my Kimber though!![:p][:p]

    I was looking at one at the gunshop today and I like it. I was reading some old threads about it from last year but it still relatively new. Anybody have one and how is it? Worth the money?

    Go with the RIA Tactical. It has everything the Taurus has for a little over $100 less. Mine is great![:D]

    I have had one for about 6 weeks. It feeds anything I have tried. I have put a couple of hundred of my 200 gr SWC handloads thru it. Probably the best buy in a 1911 for the money. It works fine with my handloaded 155 gr lead swc. This is a load that won't function in a lot of 1911s. I paid $465 for my blued one. It is an 80 series Colt internal safety system plus a key lock on the hammer. I like their magazine design. It is 8 shot with a metal follower. They make it with a magazine spring that telescopes in order to get the 8 rounds in it. It comes with 2 magazines. It also takes standard 1911 mags.

    Oh, great to hear it feeds well! I was hoping it would. That was the main trouble I had with that Daly, hang ups, jams, stove pipes. JUNK! I tried every thing, new mags, all sorts of ammo. Nothing worked, the gun was crap.

    I have one waiting until Saturday for me to pick up. I am glad to see that another member of the board has one and gives a glowing report. The gun feels great in my hand and is very tight and smooth in action. Pearyw got a better deal than mine. I got mine for 528.00 blued. Hardly any of the FFL in SW Washington can get them, but I did locate one bout 50 miles from here. Our Sportsmanswarehouse received one in and does not know when they will get another.

    They are working on a new site. This is currently all they have. They don't spend alot on advertising to help keep costs down, so other than forums and such there is not much out there.

    I`ve been looking at the Taurus 1911 also,but I haven`t made up my mind if I want a full size 1911 or maybe a compact model that I csn carry. Also don`t know if I want a singlw action or a double like the Para Ordnance LDA`s. Too much candy to choose from. What`s a feller to do?

    I believe this to be the finest .45 on the market today ..up to about 1500 bucks.

    Have run 300 or so rounds thru the one I have...fed EVERYTHING without a bobble or stovepipe...including wad-cutters.

    A well experienced OHP..many times pistol champ..proclaimed it to be perhaps the only pistol he ever would shove into his holster and go on duty right out of the box...save for Glocks.

    Shoots point of aim, 25 yards...and will stay within the 'X' ring, B-27 target.

    One pistol, you understand...but this one is a double-jim dandy. now I am going to have the so-called 'tactical' model..with the rail.

    I guess I am just to much of a traditionist,,I have never cared for a series 80 with the extra internal safety and I do not want an extra internal key lock,,,3 safeties and a lock is just too much over kill to a simple design like a 1911

    I agree with you about the useless features. I put the hammer key up when I bought the PT1911. I hate the 80 features that make the slide a pain to disassemble, but damn near every new 1911 has these type features now. I think my Les Baer is the last new 1911 that I bought that was built the way Mr Browning designed it. I just finished building a 1911 from parts that including an 80 series Colt frame, but I set it up as a 70 series without the useless parts.
