Does anyone have a source they would recommend for replacement laptop batteries?

Make sure it isn't one of the many recalled batteries... after that, ebay or hte laptop maker.

Try the internet for battery rebuilders. I found one near me so I don't even have to pay postage.

Tried to rebuild a LiPo battery pack for Kimberkid's Compaq about 2 yrs ago.
The prices of the bulk Lipo's exceeded the replacement price from Compaq by 170%.
It was out of site the cost of the Lipo's.

But if it was Nickel Hydride could have rebuilt for for around $60-$70.

Even today I buy LiPo's for the RC Heli, 2cells 7.4v 800ma cost me $21 a set, If I buy 5 or more at a time.

And you can kill a LiPo battery just from soldering the wires to the battery.
Yeah I killed & fried 2 sets the first time.

If its a LiPo buy direct from a known good vendor that warranties the battery for at least a year.

Its a rackett!!!
