My aunt had one like that when she was 16....there were FOUR of us in her car when she pulled out in front of a Nova. Nova won....big time! It was hit right at the rear tire...and took the whole back part of the car plumb OFF. Nobody got hurt. The Nova was a dark yellowish color and I am NOT a car person but I will ALWAYS be able to spot a Nova. She cried for days. It was a few years before she got another Corvette....it was NOTHING like that first one. Those are VERY nice cars.

I dont know what it is about a corvette, but I dont like them...and I love old cars, but to me the corvette is ugly....They are also cheap looking, common---- for want of a better adjective..

Sorry Gary, I dont know what you see in them..

Rarity. The one above just isn't a " common " Corvette. Rare options dictate high valuation. Just like my 1996 Grand Sport. It is insured as an " Exotic " One of 810 coupes. Supply and demand issue. Along with provenance of who previously owned it. Valuation is skyrocketing as it sits in the garage. I am a Corvette Nut.. Looking to buy more to put in a collection. They are not getting cheaper but older nice cars are getting harder to find. The 1974 above has 61K documented miles. Not bad for a 33yr car. Barrett Jackson will probably see it in 10 yrs at their auction. Classic, it won't get driven much but has a late model fiberglass rear spring for a smoother ride. It also has the rare FE7 Gymkhana suspension .

Rarity??????? Maybe to you, but not to me...

Even if the value "skyrockets" out of this orbit, to me its still a common cheap looking, ugly car....

I think they are pretty...but I am at the age where any car you can hear me make noises getting out of will not be in my "want to have" list. That is a pretty car! I wish I were about five years younger....I'd ask you for a ride!

Obviously you do not invest in Corvettes. Maybe a Cananadian vehicle of some sort would fit you? I absolutely love Corvettes. The American Sports Car. Can't wait to buy more. I have two rare Vettes now looking to expand my collection. [:D][:D]

I wouldnt care if it was canadian, german, italian or whatever...to me its still ugly....That is MY opinion, if you like them fine, but I dont get what it is you see in them....I should hook you up with my old hairdresser, he collected them too and sold the majority of his collection off...dont know if he still has any or not...

Email me his phone number. I am always looking to buy a rare one. Funny thing is though., I have never ran across a Corvette owner who doesn't know what their car is worth. No late models need apply.

Looks like a nice car for a summer ride. I had my 15 yr old Miata out today for a trip Downeast and back. Top down driving is always fun on a sunny day.

BlackRoses, please tell us what YOU drive. It must be fabulous.

I bet I could take you a ride in the Grand Sport and make you want to get out of the car. Gloves required for you so the door handles don't get scratched up from trying to get out. Hearing protection for me.. from your screaming.[;)]

Bring your helmet... I have only riden in one Corvette in my life. A 1968 427 3 dueces 435hp. a friend had when I got out of HS. I don't ride in another persons Corvette.. I drive it. I refuse to get in a vehicle that I have no control of that could possibly injure me.

GW.. the Driver not the rider.

Nice looking vette. I wuould like to pick up a chrome bumper (68 or 69) before they get overly expensive.

Here's the one I would have taken for a ride today. Only problem is that the love bugs are so thick in South FL right now you would spend the next two days trying to clean her up. BTW, had a cam and headers installed and now she puts down 430 Rear wheel HP.
