Be honest
You're in Florida (In Miami, to be exact).
There is great turmoil all around you, caused by a hurricane and
severe floods. There are huge masses of water all over you. You are a
newspaper photographer and you are in the middle of this great
disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. Nature is showing all her
destructive power and is ripping everything away with it. There are
houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water.
You're trying to shoot some impressive photos. Suddenly you see a
man in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be swept away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer. Somehow the man
looks familiar. Suddenly you know who it is. It is George W Bush! At
the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him
away forever.
You have two options:
You can either save him or you can take the most important photo of
your life.
So, you can save the life of George W Bush or you can shoot a Pulitzer
Prize-winning photo; a unique photo displaying the death of one of the
world's most powerful men.
So here's the question (please give an honest answer):
Would you select colour film or rather go with the classic simplicity
of a black and white photograph?

Having this quote in mind, how many of you will honestly admit that you personally know individuals who should not be in possession of/ or own a firearm either loaded, unloaded, concealed or in the open. I bring this up because we keep seeing posts of idiots who Negligently kill other people while handling firearms.

I would let someone else take the picture of me saving George W Bush's life. The goooooood feeling of pi$$ing off millions of liberal democrats is so much better than some award I could care less about. 0 -

I know it's just a joke but I would not let any person die if I could do something about it. Even a political opponent.
During the American Civil War a noteworthy battle occurred on the White River in Arkansas. A flotilla of Northern ships attacked Confederate shore positions. The ironclad Union gunboat U.S.S. Mound City was hit by a cannonball that punctured the steam boiler causing the closed interior of the ship to fill with steam. About 75 men were immediately scalded to death and perhaps 100 more were terribly injured and many jumped overboard into the river. The Confederate soldiers in their positions on the riverbank initially started shooting at the swimming Yanks. But a Southern officer quickly realized that the men in the water were badly burned and helpless so he ordered his men to cease fire. As the enlisted men also realized the situation they dropped their weapons and rushed into the river, pulling injured enemy soldiers ashore and tending to their wounds.
As the Rebels attempted to help the wounded Union troops, the other gunboats that had been attacking the Confederate position held their fire and withdrew, allowing the rescue effort to continue without interference. Doctors were summoned from a nearby town and many of the wounded men were taken into private homes... Southerner's homes... to receive treatment. It was one of few times during the Civil War that people actually were... civil.
In the end, 129 of the ship's 175 crewmen were killed by that one cannon shot. Many historians consider that one shot to have been the most destructive one fired during the war.
We Americans are a strange lot, sometimes. We interrupt the carnage of war to help a wounded enemy. It's simply not like us to turn our backs on someone desperately in need.

...would not matter "who" it was drowning, I'd do my best to save them; screw the pic. If it was the president, I'd do my damndest to save him, silly question...[;)]

What distance and what F stop would you suggest? [:o)][:o)] BTW.. I can't swim so the decision is simple..[xx(][xx(]0
