OK, I'm shocked and surprised. I could agree that maybe a flame could somehow cause a tiny electrical current in a wire, but from what I saw there is absoutely no chemical or any other effect that actually reaches the black and red electrical wires. And the small amount of rubbing he did on the nails will at best only create a very, very weak magnetic field. And besides, if the flame on the candles actually cause the generation of electrictity, since the flame is at the top of the candles, far away from the now magnetic nails, How does the flame even exert even the tinyist effect on the nail and on the wires to create that electric current?

Yes, you CAN generate a small electrical current when you heat the junction of two dissimilar metals- called a thermocouple. And you can get cooling/ heating by supplying current to the junction of two dissimilar metals (Peltier effect) But you are not gonna get total wattage to light a bulb from two nails in two candles. I've seen it with taters, but in the taters you must also connect the two taters to each other (alternating the types of metals with the type you connected to the clock) along with connecting it to the bulb or clock.
Why was this not done here? Or was the table acting as the birdge for the static charge to travel?
I still dont get the need for magnetizing the nails though. I never had to magnetize my taters before hook-up. [?][?][?]

Maybe my nails were too short. Maybe the candles were too big. Maybe the wrong magnet. Possibly the wrong brand of butane lighter.

FAKED. Watch the hands as the candles are lit or blown out. Both hands are visible when the first candle is lit but one hand always drops to approximately the same location out of view below the table (I suspect to opperate a switch) when the second candle is lit or one of the candles is blown out. When lighting multiple candles how many of your switch hands? Notice how the second candle just about goes out but the light stays on as bright as ever. FAKE FAKE FAKE. 0 -
There is a kit sold in the learning stores called a one potato clock. It uses strip of copper and zinc, inserted into a potato (or lemon) and produces enough current to run a digital clock. IT'S A BATTERY! Current required for a digital clock (solid state device) is miniscule. Current required for a light bulb- significant. Parafun (candles) does not produce the smae effect as a moist potato or lemon. We used to use a tiny grain-of-wheat lite bulb with LONG leg wires to check on area for stray currents/ induced currents before using electric blasting caps. Takes 1/4 amp to fire a cap. 1/4 amp is barely enuff to make that tiny bulb glow (put them inside a cardboard sleeve so you could see the light. The video is a spoof, guys. You cannot CREATE energy, other than in a nuclear reaction. Change it, yes. Create it, no. 0 -
