Security Breech on my Credit Card today
I went and rented a large fork truck this morning. Put the bill on the plastic card. Was not home when they delivered the machine. The driver gave the printout to a worker. I got the printout from the worker later and noticed my CC full number, security code, and expiration date printed on the bill. What morons to give this information to someone other than me. I called the CC company and had a hold put on any other charges besides the forktruck. My new account number and card will arrive Thurs. Be carefull out there Identiy theft is everywhere.

Did you contact the rental co also?

I seem to recall a law being enacted in the last couple years making it illegal to post a full CC number on a receipt. I'm not sure if that was federal or state. You might check with your local LE agency. 0 -
If the full number was printed the machine was not set right. 0 -

It was eithet that, or take the machine back too.
Did you expect the delivery dude to wait for you to get home?
Did they tell you when it was to be delivered? Their is 2 sides, to something like that.. IMO.FWIW.[^]0 -

Are you stupid or what? They gave personal information to someone else. Maybe you would like to have someone do a bank deposit for you and the teller give them your personal account access when they only have deposit powers. I expected NO personal information on the receipt.0 -
I am by no means "STUPID" As i could well have called you, for not being on, or HAVING someone on the job, to accept that machine.
I have NEVER stooped to calling anyone "STUPID" or anything even close to it. And what i replied, to your post, was merely an observation.

Would you rather he took the machime back, and stopped your job for a day?
I believe you owe me an apology.0 -
Here is what I am doing tomorrow... They broke the law by leaving my Full CC number on the receipt. They can eat the cost of the whole rental and then be turned into the SC Securtiy and Exchange Board. I don't play games with my credit and they screwed up royal. I am real pissed [:(!][:(!] Read the link carefully . It is Federal and State law.

Next time the kid will know to take the machine back, with him, because the renter wasn't on the job, to accept it.
And, you would have been charged 1/2 day for it, at least.
This way, the rental Co. gets screwed out of a day's machine rental, because the kid didn't want to stop your job, by taking the machine back.0 -

Your missing the point again... MY FULL CC NUMBER , SECURITY CODE AND EXPIRATION DATE IS ON THE BILL. ILLEGAL .. READ THE LINK . I already signed at the store for the CC and they just delivered it.0 -

That's irrelevant to the fact that they printed a full credit card number on the receipt. There or not they broke the law, and violated all common sense by printing that information.
While the "stupid" comment was out of line, I still don't see how you can justify any reason for the rental company's mistake.0 -
Stupid should not have been used. Not understanding common sense is more like it. I am going to give them hell tomorrow. 0 -
I can understand being pissed at the office person who took the invoice.Their is an abbreviated copy that goes to the job, for signing/acceptance of the machine.
Still... YOU or someone you know, should have been ON-SIGHT to accept that piece of machinery...
THE MACHINE MUST BE MET AT THE JOB, AND BE SIGNED-FOR.
Are you insinuating, now, that i have no "common sense"?0 -

I guess that makes us EVEN. Because i KNOW you have no common sence. If you had an ounce of it, you'd have been there, when the machine got there. Or are you telling me the Rental people KNEW they were to just drop it off,(not knowing who was operating the machine)leave a receipt, and just leave? United Rental In West Palm will deliver NOTHING, without a signature. I don't think the one in your area would either.0 -
They are just using old software. As you know, you are only liable for $50.00 even if they had bought a Bolivian coca plantation.
If you are that security conscious you shouldn't have a credit card.
What happens when you hand that credit card off to a waitress who disappears into the back where all the ex-cons are working? OHMYGOSH!!! The sky is falling.0 -
My read on this post is that select is questioning the "disbursment" of his credit card number. The credit card info Should have stayed in the rental office. That's what has him riled. No one at the jobsite? Unrelated to why he is angry. Or why he posted. Joe 0 -

Well I tell you what I will do MR. Smart Guy... Maybe this will convince you... Notice the signatures on the bottom? Maybe you can see them but I can't .[:D][:D]
