BUT...when someone interjects themself into the national spotlight in a contest for the publics approval, I AM ALLOWED TO HATE THEM. I am also allowed to like them but in this case, i am SICK of this kid. i dont even watch Idol but since this don king look alike is plastered all over every other tv program i cant avoid him.

Some of us are old enuff to remember a TV program from the B&W days- called Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour. The show sucked. Same format as Idol. Or should say, Idol dug up the format, washed off the enbalming fluid, and put fresh makeup on the corpse. Sitcoms, gameshows, talent searches. My Lord, set yer watch back 50 yrs- expect Lucy and Ricky will be along any time now! 0 -

The whole show is a joke as far as talent is concerned. If they really wanted the best of the best 1/2 of the finalists should never have made the cut. It amazes me how bad some of them can be in the early stages of the competition and still have the judges rave about how great they are. As far as the TV voting that is an even bigger joke. It is nothing more than a popularity contest. Sonjaya has only got a couple rounds left before the pre-teen vote gets too thin to keep him on. 0 -
I like Lakesha Jones. She is a big ol' gal, but she can sure sing. You don't have to be hot to be a singing star. Examples: Cass Elliott, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Lulu Roman, all are/were known for how they sound more than how they look. Heckfire, Janis Joplin was ugly as a mud fence, but she could sure belt one out. 0 -
