Update John Deere Dealer

Took the lawnmower in at 8 this morning. Blades were off at 8:15. They used an impact gun. Well actually two impact guns.. first one was not strong enough. Got the " big boy " out and removed them. I was told first gun was set at 125#. The big boy gun didn't take them off in a big hurry neither. I ask why the blade bolts were put on so tight in the first place and the service man said.. you can't get them too tight. I ask him why the owners manual then said to install them at 46#'s. He rounded off all the bolts and I went and bought new ones and left. They wanted to install my new blades.. and I chuckled and left. BTW they were NOT left hand threads

    lol, As long as you keep the blades straight and don't get them to out of balance It shouldn't matter how tight you have them. They should always be turning in the direction of tightening.

    Did you remember to use antiseize?

    Cut wet grass and get corrosion started.

    Like someone else mentioned, use antisieze.

    Antisieze. Rotational direction has nothing to do with it.
