Went trap shooting tonight...
First time since '86.
First round got 21, I swear I got lucky no birds angled, all straight birds from my position.
Second round 18, just breaking the rust loose on some of those left or right birds.
Thing was I was the only person with an 870, people looked like they had robot guns. What happened to good ol' wood stocks ?
Either way if brought back the fun days I use to spend with my dad and cronies, might have to take this up again[:)]

+1 on the good ol 870, worlds most reliable shotgun, love mine and love shooting clay 0 -
I enjoy the clays as well, use my Win 1300 mostly, last time out 23 of 25. At the end of the day I'll break out the 870 SuperMag and put a box of 3 1/2 " turkey loads down range on target, that always leaves a mark. Wife doesn't understand how it can be fun when it makes that kind of a bruise, my buddy cusses and says if it was his he'd throw it on the ground and stomp on it, give it back some of what it dishes out.[:D][:D][:D] 0 -
I like the clays also. Also shoot an 870, along with a model 58, and a 48. 0 -
I know what you mean. We have an outing with our Venture Crew for a day of trapshooting a couple of months ago and I brought my 870. My trusted 870 and I faired OK next to the $10,000 and up Perazzis and other preppy brands [}:)], considering that was my first time trap shooting. 0 -

to answer your question on wood stocks, believe it or not, the world is running out of good wood, so as part of the green effort, many companies are switching to other materials. 0 -
The Boise Gun Club is adding a 5 Stand course. I guess I'll have to try it one day. I'll take regular trap any day. 0
