    Yes they were; My first Browning Citori was made in Belgium. The later models are made in Japan. I see no difference but the Belgium models seem to sell for more for some strange reason.

    I agree with duckhunter, I believe they were all produced in Japan.

    Everything I find on the internet supports that as well.

    But then again I have been wrong before!!!![:I][:)]

    Easiest way to tell is if the Browning is a long tang or a short tang. If the tang behind the trigger guard goes down a ways on the pistol grip it could be a 1964 (or earlier) Belgium made Browning.

    Look under the opening lever for the serial number and then go to the Browning website and see the date of manufacture and location of manufacture.
