...Queer? That all depends on what you're using them for...[:0]

..I kind of know what you mean, but I buy cheapo flashlights because you just can't have too many. My one concession is a Surefire Z2 Combat Light, with the 120 lumen upgrade. I can't believe that I have over a hundred bucks in a flashlight, but I'll never have to shoot anyone.....I'll just fry their retinas.

I have several maglights around, also. In all the vehicles, a few around the house, one in the shop. Wouldn't call myself queer over them, though.

...I prefer to call it a "practical" light.[:D] Though, it really isn't good for much else. I wouldn't have it if my boss hadn't given me a Cabela's gift certificate. Got the light, a metal detector and a digital powder scale. All stuff I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise.
...And stop poking, or I'll fry your retinas.

..Better idea: I'll paste a silhouette of Rosie O'Donnel on the lens and fry that picture onto your retinas for all time.

..Nah. That's just cruel. I wouldn't do that to such a nice guy.

While we're on the flashlight topic, are those shaker type lights any good? I'm putting my family's emergency kit together and wanted to stash a few in there and not have to worry about batteries.

I have had a shaker and a wind up for several years, both still work just fine. In fact I won the shaker on a giveaway right here on GB.

I have been worried for you in that regard.

All I seem to need is my maglights. Got a couple of cool UV inserts for scorpion hunting too.

Got a few put up myself. Seems to be ok. Good to have in an emergency.

I still love Pelican flashlights, especially that big one that takes 8 D batteries. (It's the one Pamela Anderson carried on Bay Watch.)

    A "8 D battery"? I don't think anyone could carry an 8D battery.

That is some powerful light to run on an 8D battery.

You could start 8 cars at the same time with an 8D battery.

Oh I see you meant 8 "D" cells batteries.

My mistake, it must be nap time.
