Actually he found me. Cell phone rang and there he was after almost 4 years. He is the closest thing I have to a brother. I almost lost him over a fight at work. I'll never work with friends again. He is planning on coming out to elk hunt this fall. Wow, I didn't realize how much I missed him until after the call.

Sorry for sharing the personal moment. I know its frowned on around here.[;)]

...next thing you know, you'll be asking for a group hug.[:X][}:)][:D][:o)]

I am glad you made up with your friend of so many years. I had a falling out seven years ago with my best friend. I have known the guy since 1975. We have not spoken now in seven years.
Anyway, I am glad that these things work out sometimes.
But, promise your gunbroker friends that you won't go elk hunting with this guy on Brokeback Mountain.

Glad to hear things worked out. Better to have an anecdote than a regret, you know?

in my case, as i age, my friends and i grow in seperate ways and i learn how much we didnt have in common when we reunited. what made the friendship unique was....'the moment in time.'
try being buds with your buds from the military once you get out. it rarily works, because the military was what bonded you together. no military, no bond. yeah yeah, memories, but you can only repeat the stories so many times and it gets old. bonds weaken with age. within 10 years, everyone i knew was out and gone back home. i visit the base, their old neighborhoods, its like i never knew them, no trace.

    such is life.

so what am i saying? enjoy your reuniting. take pictures! then youll shake hands and life will go on.

    its never the same.

    brokeback elk hunt ...ROTFLMAF

We met in college and for 10 years we were almost inseparable. Girlfriends then wives then kids...he was like the brother I never had. Then we started working together. Eventually he was passed over for a promotion that I then received. He then left the company and moved his family to Montana. That was 4 years ago.

Thanks for the kind words from some and the laughs from others. You guys aren't half bad. NOW its time for a group hug!!!![;)]
