Any buddy been stationed there? My stepson is being assigned there as soon as he completes tech school.

Hows the hunting and fishing???

I spent a year in boise. couple of hours up the road. hunting and fishing are goo there. mainly trout on the fishing side. hunting you can go for just about anything. plenty of land around. not real populated there.

Someone in my squadron just came from there and love the hunting and fishing around the area. Here's the base and the fish and game's website ...

Hunting, fishing...anything else outdoors he wants to do!!

There's much more than trout there. Tell him to go just below the dam, some great fishin' holes there. Elk hunting is excellent. The area is being invaded by Kalifornians but is still pretty laid back compared to the East Coast. I end up out there a couple times a year TDY.

Best advice....get off base and drive into the mountains. The town of Mtn. Home sucks....makes it easy to stay in the dorms and get drunk all the time...encourage the fishing and hunting trips, etc.
