Latest Smoothbore Addition
Picked her up at a flea market for 30 bones. She was a tad shabby so I tore her down and refinished her top to bottom. Bore was only 1/2" and was only drilled down about 4". So I had her reamed out to 3/4" and tapped her a new touch hole. She likes 150 grains of FFFG but has to be tied down lest she rockets backwards at a high rate of speed![:0]

4th of july i blew up a "BILLET STAINLESS" 1" bore 16" mini-cannon. With about 1/2 CUP of FFFG packed with 4 oily paper-towels.
I wanted to unload it,(thought she might blow) but the owner said "LIGHT IT UP!!
BTW. I was using 12" of water-proof "Model fuse" to set it off.I know another guy that has a "10 gauge" cannon,that fires shot-shells.0 -

Nice find ISP!!!!!! Looks like the carriage is a little small for that size cannon - I get the same reaction with my 1" bore when loaded over 250grn cannon grade BP. Fishkiller - why the hell would you load a 1" bore with 1/2 CUP of any powder. That is just a pipe bomb!!!! 0 -

We used to turn those and make bang sticks when we were kids.
I kinda miss those times. An adult friend/owner of a Stanley
Andrews sporting goods store would keep us in black powder
by passing it (expired dated) by the can to us (on the sly), out
the back in the alley. .... that was before law suit crazy lawyers
turned this country into such a boring place for teenagers.[:D]0 -
