Student caught with two assault rifles
Rochester NY, RIT campus dorm,student from NJ found with two semi-auto assault type rifles,(stag-15 and AR-15) also 320 ropunds of ammo in car.Said to be collector of guns? His only problem to date was crossing state line without proper papers, guns are said to be against NY state laws.

Im thinkin the term is for any weapon made for the military, not the typical hunting rifle or gun.

I'm a college student (I don't live on campus, by the way).
If authorities were to search my house, they'd find alot more than two "assault rifles" and 350 rounds of ammo....
I even have a dreaded Glock 9mm pistol.....you know, the kind with the "automatic clips" that make it a machine gun0 -

1977 Ball State University.. wife and I lived on campus .. student housing. Towel head reported me to officials on campus for "loading guns in my car".( they were all cased up ) I have to appear to Campus administration and explain. No explaining, I was going to my parents house on a Sat. to shoot. Campus administation tell me guns are illegal on campus. Towelhead starts laughing.. I tell campus administration this jerk has been denting my new car..( which he paid for ) and has been a real PIA. I want to file a complaint. They tell me to get rid of my guns. I tell them to get rid of the towelhead. Towelhead gets dismissed from USA and sent home.. I keep guns till wife graduated two years later. 0 -

When I was in high school, me and my brother would leave the slug guns in the back seat of the car and right after the last class would go deer hunting until dark. One day, I remember showing my scoped Remington 1100 to one of my teachers. He wanted to see the side receiver scope mount so we both walked out into the parking lot to check it out. I live in rochester, I didnt know AR-15's were illegal. Maybe he had them in an illegal configuration (IE Postban+hi-cap+EVIL FLASH HIDER)
Who knows, but Ive been shooting and working gunshows for a long time and if AR's are illegal in NY you'd think I wouldnt see so many. I know rochester city ordinance is a little strict. I feel bad for the jersey kid. Possesion of hollow points there is a CRIME. Crappy0 -
