Maybe the Brady Bunch will pick up his sponsorship.

It is the least they could do for all the publicity they will squeeze out of his remarks.

Madison, North Carolina - As a result of comments made by Mr. Jim Zumbo in recent postings on his blog site, Remington Arms Company, Inc., has severed all sponsorship ties with Mr. Zumbo effective immediately. While Mr. Zumbo is entitled to his opinions and has the constitutional right to freely express those options, these comments are solely his, and do not reflect the views of Remington.

"Remington has spent tens of millions of dollars defending our Second Amendment rights to privately own and possess firearms and we will continue to vigorously fight to protect these rights," commented Tommy Millner, Remington's CEO and President. "As hunters and shooters of all interest levels, we should strive to utilize this unfortunate occurrence to unite as a whole in support of our Second Amendment rights."

We regret having to terminate our long-standing relationship with Mr. Zumbo, who is a well-respected writer and life-long hunter.

...sorta like saying your wife is ugly in a group setting of friends and co-workers when she is present! Go sleep on the couch a while Jim, maybe with your apologies and some begging, you may get back in the bedroom.

We need people with the thoughts of legal gun owners in mind, not someone who can make a mockery of a situation. If you don't like something, keep your opinions to yourself and don't shoot yourself in the foot or hand that feeds you.

Exactly! They need to know that many people are watching, and appreciate the good things that are done just as much as they criticize the bad.[:)]

    Here is what OL said...

    Statement from Outdoor Life
Due to the controversy surrounding Jim Zumbo's recent postings, Outdoor Life has decided to discontinue the "Hunting With Zumbo" blog for the time being. Outdoor Life has always been, and will always be, a steadfast supporter of our Second Amendment rights, which do not make distinctions based on the looks of the firearms we choose to own, shoot and take hunting. Please direct any comments you have to

    OLletters@time4.com.

I sent an email stating that they should make their separation from Zumbo permanent.

    I'm not really surprised.

Remington, does't have nearly the same market-share in the "Government-Only" area that some other companies, like HK, Colt, Benelli, FN, or Bushmaster do.

While I agree the decision was definitely the right one, no company as big as Remington is going to make any decision without carefully considering whether it will result in a net profit, or net loss.

In this day and age, with the amount of Homeland Defense plunder that's going towards unnecessary Federal armaments, any of the gunmakers with lucrative government contracts listed above would surely take this opportunity as a chance to flip their civilian market the bird in order to curry favor with the Police Chiefs and BATF Assault Team leaders of the world that buy by contract, and by the pallet load.

Remington, with no irrational notions like "personal feelings" messing with their business plan, probably simply realized that as a civilian oriented company, they couldn't afford to ignore Zumbo's comments.

Go ask Bill Ruger or S&W what they think the 2nd Amendment means some time.

Unless you KNOW (and can PROVE) something of which you speak/write, this is considered libelous and slanderous. Not the sort of thing you want to do, I suspect. Besides, to assert that ALL of Russian industry is controlled by the "Russian Mafia" is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?

If you go to Outdoor Life's website and search for Zumbo you won't find anything. He has gone, bye-bye.
