quote:Watch for the female cop that runs up to the car.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago, only I was on a concrete driveway. Hurt my knee. I got up quicker than she did though.

Nobody laughed. The other two were in front of me at the time, and unaware that I had tripped.

Everybody falls on their butt sometimes if you are doing anything worthwhile.

I was moving in on a marijuana patch that a chopper had spotted and was in muddy water up past my knees when I hooked my foot on a root and plunged down into the water while wearing a full uniform, gunbelt and 3 prep radioes. Because I had one radio in my hand at the time, it took a good dunking. I took off the battery and during our lunch, I took it apart with my leatherman tool, washed it out with clean, cold water back at the airport, and then put it on the cars dash with the defroster on hot/high and the windows open. By the time lunch was done, the radio was dry and I put it back together and used it that afternoon. I used it until I retired and it was still working.

My dept even had a class on how to save electronics that got dunked because we had so many of our people doing it.

I think the pilots sometimes got a kick out of taking us through the thickest crap while they stayed high and dry.

Our bosses used to say, "If you are doing the job, you will have things happen and things break every now and then."
