capitol punishment survey
Since most daytime TV sucks, I'm pretty much stuck on AMC and the History Channel.
Program on the History Channel about capital punishment got me wondering about what is the most efficient, both in human suffering and economically, method of execution?
Guillotine? Gas chamber? Firing squad? Lethal injection?
Any comments? Experiences? Please share....

Firing squad with .454s. They won't get up. 0 -

There we go! Impalement! Worked for Valad didn't it?
I thing hanging from the nearest lamppost for some crimes would be a good deterrent. Specially for child molesters and pushers that sell in schools. Let em hang till they rot. Good object lesson for the young wannabee's that worship these types! I don't think it would really cause any lasting harm for children to see justice done. Kids are a lot tougher than you think!

Hanging or firing squad.
Has my vote unless its a child molester in which case i think you nail thier scrotum to the floor of an old wooden shed, given them a dull rust knife and light the shed of fire with a little gasoline to ensure ignition and wait and see what happeneds. If they come out alive and bleeding, take your time calling for help. Better yet, yell for help and see if it gets there on time.0 -

Don't get me wrong, I do hate a thief, but capitol punishment for theft does seem a little harsh.
1 in 8 convicts on death row have been shown to be innocent. Personally I would rather support 8 monsters than kill one innocent.
Society certainly has the right to protect its self and to punish heinous crimes, but the percentage of conviction errors is very troubling.0 -
yep I support capital punishment. if they do the crime they can do the punishment.
I think hanging, firing squad, electric chair
lethal injection puts there sorry a$$ asleep, so they never feel pain. I think they should feel as much pain as possible.
child molester, my punishment, take them out in the woods, stake them to a stump with a device that holds thier johnson and testicle.
next give them a butter knife, pour honey on them. let them watch as millions of ants start towards them. they will have a choice.0 -
...Easy answer, not hard at all, screw the high moral ground when it comes to these vermin. One bullet in the back of the head and offer the job first to the family members of the victim(s)...[^]

The one thing Saddam had right and I'll give him credit for. Sure, quick, inexpensive execution is to throw them off a tall building or even outside off a mountain side. No bullets, no electicity, no drugs and doctors just a one way ride down a tall object. 0 -
I think drugs should be legalized.
For the especially depraved, I could probably be convinced that burning alive would be good.

The big thing we miss with all the "humane" methods is deterrant. The uglier it is, the bigger the deterrent. Who ever decided someone being executed for a heinous crime should not have to endure even the discomfort of a needle stick? Totally ridiculous. That's what's wrong with this country today. 0 -
Hang'em high and reuse the rope. 0 -
I am generally against the death penalty.
I could probably agree with the baseball bat and family members or victim of rape. If they want him dead, they can kill him. If not, he can rot in prison.
I am more upset by the death of innocent, helpless children, by abortion.0
