Life is short - prayers needed please
So, yesterday was my wife's last day as an employee. In a week, she starts up school and she plans to go into business for herself when she graduates.
Last night, we were going to go out and celebrate.
On her way back home, she gets a phone call from a friend. Seems as though another friend of hers drowned in Cherry Creek Reservoir yesterday afternoon in knee-deep water. She apparently passed out, went down, and nobody noticed for several minutes.
She's still alive, but she's got some rather significant swelling on her brain stem. She is responsive, which is good, but they've put her in a drug-induced coma and she's on a respirator. All the friends who showed up yesterday, including my wife, are medical professionals -- apparently this woman will have brain damage and will likely not be the same person coming out of this.
She has a five-year old daughter.
So, if you pray, please do so. The woman's name is Erica.
If you don't pray, if you could please just give good thoughts her way, that would be appreciated.

We have had several water related deaths here in the last couple of weeks. Everyone please be careful especially as the 4th approaches and we all spend more time new the water.0 -

Wow.
Power of prayer works. Today they took her off the ventilator and are moving her out of ICU, and took her out of the induced coma.
She is responsive, talking, etc., her long-term memory is in place, but her short-term memory is gone. She has zero recollection about yesterday's events.
But, that can be dealt with. Both of her pupils are blown, so she'll likely have eye problems for life. But, it could be so much worse.

Good thoughts are all I have to offer. It is heart breaking enough when a young person nearly loses their life, or a large part of it. But it is worse when a small child loses a loving parent. 0 -
