Yeah...and there is no "us versus them" mentality.

Although sad, at the rank of corparal they are not an officer! 0 -
Unless he means "non-commissioned officer"... 0 -

There is a big difference between an NCO and an officer!
I know as I was an NCO!0 -
My condolences to his family.
GRD, this is a police officer...not military...murdered in the line of duty.

I know there is a massive difference between a commissioned officer and a non-commissioned officer (I know - my father was an NCO in the Australian Army during the Vietnam War). However, I thought there was a slight chance that shootlow had made the "mistake" that you're trying to correct me on now. However, it seems that the guy was a police officer, so I don't think we should bother arguing about military ranks now.0 -
God bless this young man and give peace to his family.

yes DH he did....my old next door neighbor wigged out and decided to shoot 3 police officers in the face with a shotgun. This entire week has been very sad in Odessa. 5 police officers have ever died in the line of duty in Odessa. 2 were from motorcycle accidents back in the 80s and now these 3 that were shot last Saturday night. 0 -
Life sucks sometimes...Sorry to hear. 0 -
We as a species are capable of extremely savage acts. Been following the story here in Texas and it is indeed sad and pointless. 0 -
Mateo what's crazy about this is he allegedly showed very little to no remorse about what happened. After surrendering to police and being placed on a gurney to go to the hospital because he had been shot in the abdomen he asked for his reading glasses. This guy was "completely normal" the 12 years I knew him. I'm very curious to go back home and visit him in jail to just see if he has completely flipped or if it was just an alcohol and pain pill fueled rage. 2 years ago he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and only given 6 months to live. So hell who knows. I am not pointing fingers or blaming anyone other than him for this but if a guy has barricaded his front door and his wife tells me he has guns and has been drinking. It's easy to say well I would have done this....but I pose this question to LEOs. If you have a situation like this and your city has a SWAT Team.....do you try to gain entry through the back of the house or do you escalate the situation to SWAT?? 0 -
the police had been to this house many times over there fights and they had talked him down so many times before IMHO they dropped there guard and thought just another BS call
to all LEOS never let your guard down and go hame safe
this is a case of all out murder and he should never have came out of the house alive and while he was an the gurney he ask for his sun glasses
no remorse at all0 -
today is the day may he REST IN PEACE 0 -
