new refinishing project
I just got this pellet gun on a trade for $15 worth of crawfish. On a couple auctions it is being sold for around $50. It is like new and shoots great. The factory finish is terrible ,drips, runs, just a poor job. I need some help and off the wall suggestions as to what color/stain/paint scheme to go with.

God I love this country, Guns for crawfish! Take all of the wood off, Strip the finish off with some good furniture stripper and then we will start with the easy job of refinishing. I would get a dark antique cherry water base stain and then put a lispeed oil finish on it. Here is one I recently did.

In the before picture I noticed that you removed all the finish up to the checkering?
Some people say they use a stiff nylon brush to clean out the checkering with the furniture stripper, what is your preference?
Why do you prefer linseed oil vs. other oils?
