Old Army buddy called me
Out of the blue. Haven't talk to him in years. He is still married to the same girl. She's a little sweetie. They got married while we were in the army. Steve and I would go fishing all night dragging mud into the house and get into all kinds of trouble. Vickie would calm down in a short time .Then cook us a big meal. He invited me to go spring turkey hunting with him next season .I will be taking him up on that offer.
He is a fist sergeant in the army reserve and was in Iraq 2005. When I answered the phone he says is this baby face and I new who it was right from the git go. Man that made my day.[:)]

There are some folks I wouldn't mind seeing again...0 -
Very cool, how long since you have seen him? 0 -
1980 or 81 I think. We just kinda drifted away. That's sad but that's life. Looking forward to rekindling our friendship.quote:Originally posted by Mk 19

Nice, warm and fuzzy. Good for you. I still wouldn't mind looking up a couple of my old pals. 0 -
He's a "fist sergeant"??
What happened to don't ask, don't tell?0 -
DAMN-STRAIT OKIE, to borrow a PUN. You'd be a slakker to not go. Times like that, are few and far.... 0 -
when dad got down with cancer i listened to him call some old friends...never said a whole lot, but i understand better now..... 0 -
Had pretty much the same thing happen to me. Read a letter in a veteran's site wherein a gent was mentioned that I last saw in 1954 while stationed in Austria. Was able to contact him, and thru him another friend. One was in California; the other in Connecticut.
Few things have meant so much to me for a long time. Wish I could locate a few more .

Okie:
The people in the military are what make it so damn special. Congrats on the reunion with your friend.
One of my plans for retirement is to buy a large RV and roam the Interstate's from coast to coast for about 1-2 months and visit as many friends as I can. It is certainly something I look forward to enjoying at that time in my life.
Best of luck with the Turkey hunt. [;)]0 -
It don't git no better than that..I have lots of old military buddies I'd love to hear from. I've found a few, lost a few... 0
