    is the barrel bad??
If not take it to a gunsmith and have him put a brake on it.

Brownells' has a 180 dollar deal...E.R. Shaw barrel, Sharp Shooter barrel wrench, NO/Go-Go gauges included.
No muzzle break. Expect you will have to get somebody locally to thread the barrel for that.

Check Midway..they are putting more Savage items in their catalog all the time.

Just curious, why do you want a muzzle brake on a .308? I'm a wimp when it comes to recoil but, a .308 isn't that bad. Since I have started using double ear protection at the range I have lost ALL my flinching. I never even hear the report when I'm hunting.

I cant use it to hunt here so the muzzle break would be to keep it under control.

Umm, not to rain on your parade, but if you know how to handle a rifle you can keep s 416 Rigby under control WITHOUT a muzzle brake.

I don't know of any decent barrel that comes with a brake already installed, but Harrell sells a nice brake IIRC for $40 and any decent gunsmith can install it on your existing barrel
