New barrel
Okay, a new 24" 7mm-08 encore barrel, blued with iron sights and tapped for scope plate shipped to the door for $215.
I already have a frame and I bought a used wood stock here in GB some time ago because it was priced right.
Yes or no?
Seems like this would be a good set up for an everyday truck gun when I get moved out west as well as a nice set up for young beginners and ladies. I do a lot of hunting with a single shot now, so when the 300wsm is a little much I have this.
Can scope it or not, just what ever is needed.

Im wanting to put a barrel w/ the muzzle break on my 308 savage does anyone know where I could get one at a decent price? 0 -
i know somebody knows something ! 0 -
is the barrel bad??
If not take it to a gunsmith and have him put a brake on it.0 -
Brownells' has a 180 dollar deal...E.R. Shaw barrel, Sharp Shooter barrel wrench, NO/Go-Go gauges included.
No muzzle break. Expect you will have to get somebody locally to thread the barrel for that.
Check Midway..they are putting more Savage items in their catalog all the time.0 -
Just curious, why do you want a muzzle brake on a .308? I'm a wimp when it comes to recoil but, a .308 isn't that bad. Since I have started using double ear protection at the range I have lost ALL my flinching. I never even hear the report when I'm hunting. 0 -
I cant use it to hunt here so the muzzle break would be to keep it under control. 0 -

Umm, not to rain on your parade, but if you know how to handle a rifle you can keep s 416 Rigby under control WITHOUT a muzzle brake.
I don't know of any decent barrel that comes with a brake already installed, but Harrell sells a nice brake IIRC for $40 and any decent gunsmith can install it on your existing barrel0
