What'd your "gut-job" look like this AM, in the light-of-day? Did U skin it yet? How much of the meat was "blood-shot" from gettin runned-over??[^]

    I answered most of this in the thread.

    Gut job didn't look to bad but coulda used a little work.

    The meat looked pretty bruised from what I saw so I quite and burried it out in the gully well out back.

    I'm not suprized on the condition of the meat. Trauma like that will cause the meat to be bloodshot.

    Sorry to hear it was blood-shot.. I quit messin w/ road-kill years ago. Unless it's OBVIOUS that the deer was hit in the head only, wich is very rare,,,But HAY!!! Good guttin practice![^]

    Come on now..A dead deer is a dead deer. After it's dead, what ya have left is meat. Good meat actually. That damn meat, it don't know nuthin..It could be killed by a car, or a train, or one I saw once that was run over by an airplane. Then I've known a few that got shot...Every damn one of them tasted like meat..

    GRD, you have it. Eat it and enjoy it. If you don't want it, I have some friends there in SC who will come and take it off your hands. If you ever get up here in TN to hunt with me, I'll show you what meat is about. Raw venison is pretty good. If I can do that, you can sure as hell eat one cooked, even if it was road killed.

    Anyone who can't handle it needs to stick to spam and McRibs...
