FOR THE FISHERMEN...LOOK WHAT I FOUND...
Saturday went to the flea market where a person can set up garage sale items....Classic had gone to see a friend about a gun or two and I was wandering....I spotted a tackle box in one of the aisles and being I love fishing I had to see what was in it...
I looked, talked to the guy, looked some more and said, "Can you do any better on the price?"... He said no, he really had to be firm on it...So I said okay and gave him 60 bucks..
What you dont see is that the bottom is also full...the box had Rapalas and Heddons from the 60's and 70s and a couple from the 40s....there is one lure worth 150 bucks (french one..found one on line), couple of old wooden lures and a bunch of hand tied fly fishing lures etc...
Have been doing research online and in fishing stores round here....What I paid 60 bucks for is worth over 300

There is a box with 6 "Little Cleos" spoons, with the Harem dancing girl on them, along with a box of 5 Heddon river runts of different sizes. Bunch of Giant Mepps spinners with the Horse Hair tails.. BR did good..[:D] 0 -

Great find Beth..To give you a bit of lore..The red and white striped spoon, whatever it's called..gave me one helluva weekend in Alaska once.
I was stationed there on a radar site, right on the bank of the Yukon. Myself and some buddies rented a boat from Special Services and took a fishing trip up the Yukon. We went about fifty miles up the river and camped out for the weekend, each of us with a rod and tackle box. That lure was the one that worked for all of us, taking enough Northern Pike to fill three foot locker size coolers with fillets which we took back to the radar site and shared with the non fisherman types.
We did that three times during my one year tour, and that same lure did it every trip.
Florida ain't no place for Pike, I know, but that's a fine lure for bass as well.0
