  Now is this a dual purpose dog?? I've seen some prettyunique beagles in my time but never a bird dog beagle. 'Course my babies(German Shorthairs) are part hound and they want to chase rabbits and they do retrieve.

  Cute pic....Barney is show turning out to be a great looking dog....and you can see by the pic and that gleam in his eyes that he is very loved....

  My first Beagle was hard on Phesants. He didn't retreive game real well, but he would follow hand and whistle signals when searching for downed game (once he found it, he would stand guard over it until you got there).
  
  He'd bawl when pushing fur, but has a short chop when trailing a bird (better have your track shoes on than [:D])
