law enforcement soliciting money.
Got another call today " Hi, this is ......... of the State Police Society ( or what ever) we sure hope we can count on your support again.....".
A few years ago I gave and no peace there after, the phone just kept ringing.
I tried responding "Sorry , last time I helped your organization my phone never stopped ringing, looking for more. I'll have to find another way to help you. Keep up the good work."
I'd get silence or a nasty reply like "thanks for your generosity". I spoke with a law enforcement official about these solicitations and he said the solicitors are not even part of the organization they solicit for and are doing it for a share of the take.
What is your experience with these calls? I find them annoying!

Telemarketers are telemarketers. Doesn't matter what their pitch is. Anything from taking care of those poor police families to fire fighters to unwed fathers jock straps..All the same. If they can manage somehow to attach it to something slightly looking like a charity, then it is legal for them to pester you until you die.
It has nothing to do with law enforcement, Nothing to do with families of dead police officers, it has to do with getting all the money out of you that can be mustered. Exactly like crippled children, voluntary fireman, adopting foreign orphans, taking care of stray dogs and cats.. Just one more way to part you from the money you worked hard for all your life. One more way to take advantage of you for being a naive, loving person. One more way to make you a "Mark."0
