Anyone heard of Don Mccoy.
I got a guy that wants to sell me this M1 garand he has. He told me that it was 100% custom built by Don Mccoy. This rifle is by far the most beutifull M1 i have ever seen. He said he would sell it to me for 1800.00. I have been trying to do some reserch on Don Mccoy, But i can't find very much. Any info you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
P.s. After looking at this rifle i would say that at most it has had 50 rounds fired though it.

Would the Mona Lisa still be a masterpiece if Leonardo had not painted it? If you like the work done, what is holding you back? Are you unsure of yourself and need someone to tell you what you are looking at is good? If it's worth $1800 to you, buy it.
Personally I would not have a custom dolled up military weapon of any type.0 -
Don McCoy is a pretty widely accepted expert/writer on the Garand. He writes for a lot of magazines/websites.[:D] 0 -
Ask you seller to prove it is one of his custom built guns. A letter of provenance would suffice. Here is a short read.

The McCoys I've seen had a medalian on the bottom metal.
BTW, he is one of, if not the, premier target Garand builders in the world.0
