Hey Deasil, I use my whitetail rifle to keep my eye sharp and figure if I can hit a groundhog at distance I should be able to hit a whitetail no problem. Winchester model 70 7mm-08 w\ Weaver Grand Slam scope. Not ideal for long range but as I stated above... For ghogs I use 120g hollow points Remington. Sighted in at 200yrds about 7 1\2" drop to 300. For whitetail I use Win. Power point plus 140g. 0 -
the .220 swift is a sweet round. I use whatever I feel like using that day...and Handloads. 0 -
Sako .243. 0 -
If I'm really irritated about something, I use my 264 Win and Sierra 85 gr hollowpoints.
Usually I shoot a 22/250 with 60 Hornadys on calm days, a 25-06 with 87 Sierras on breezy days.
On windy days, I use an '06 with 130 Gr HPs.

We have Rockchucks here, so it is almost always over 200yrds. I use (big supprise here) a Winchester M70 varmint in 220 Swift Acklet improved or a Ruger M77V(tang safty) 6mm Ackley Improved. I kill most of my Coyotes with a shotgun #4 buck and the rest with a RugerM77R(tang safty) 22-250 Ackley Improved. 0 -
I like my 450 Marlin lever rifle, but I do have to hold it a few feet high at 200 yds+. Also you don't want anything or anyone around when the round hits, its real messy!![;)] 0 -

Old Savage 110 in 22-250 gets rid of all sorts or pests up to 300 yards. The rifle is good, it's me that's iffy farther than that. 0 -
When I lived in NY on our farm I used a Win. 70 in 7mm for woodchucks and now I use a 257 weatherby for flat shots at what-ever. 0 -

For 200 yards plus I use
1. Remington 700 VSSF .223
2. DPMS 24" SS fluted bull barrel varminter .223
3. Remington 700 VS 22-250
I shoot several others but these are my main ones.
I usually shoot ballistic tips bullets either Nolser or Hornady. I also use Calhoun Double hollow points but usually closer in.0 -
I use two guns exactly the same make and model, but two different calibers.
