Looking for a new knife
I'm looking for a new knife. I'm looking for something that has a pocket clip, lock blade, and can easily be opened with one hand. I use a knife a lot at work and when I do I have to be able to open and close it with one hand.
I bought one of these kits a while back.

I really like the size and shape blade. The problem is that I put so much time into putting it together that I don't want to carry the thing because I'll mess it up. Another knife I was looking at is this one

I've never owned a smith and Wesson knife before and I'm not really sure how well it's made. Any suggestions?

I've been thinking about getting a new folder for some time now.
Buck has a few new ones out that are really nice.
I looked at a few Kershaws, KaBars, and CRKTs. The Columbia Rivers felt really nice.
Looking at something around $60-70 with a blade length of 3-4".
Any suggestions?

im partial to kershaw due to their outstanding customer service. anything designed by ken onion is a sure bet. the crkt m16 series is nice too though.

Stay away from the Buck's, the beauty is only skin deep.....
I have always enjoyed spyderco and gerber, but I'm being temped by the kershaw's myself.0 -

Kershaw, Gerber, and Columbia River Knife & Tool, Puma.
The CRKT K.I.S.S. is my constant carry knife, as well as a little bitty (and very old) Kershaw lockback.
If you can get to a gun show & shop around, I'm sure you'll find something that will work for you, at a good price.
You should also consider a used one, for the best return on your investment.
By the way, this is a great pawnshop project.

Gerbers are a good price for me, I dont cry when I lose one! I have had benchmades and such, that do nothing more for pure utility.

Get the M16 or "Desert Tactical" or whatever they are calling the latest and greatest. The CRKT M16 family of knives are the best I've used. I have 3 and my daily carry is still the first one I bought. Just wanted more of 'em! 0 -
the ones you posted have the clip in the reverse position of the way i prefer them, i am partial to cold steel, they hold an edge better than any knife i have ever seen

+1 on the Buck 110. I've got one my dad gave me in 1973. It's on my side every time I step into the woods. A friend of mine had one and was chopping a hole in the ice in a pond with it. Guess what happened? Blade snapped in half. He sent it back to Buck. The sent him a new one, no questions asked. If you get one and are not familiar with sharpening, don't use the "miracle sharpeners" on it. Angle is wrong. Use a hard Arkansas stone. Draw the edge across the stone with the edge in the direction of motion. Use a 17 1/2 degree angle. If you get it right, you can gut, skin and quarter a deer without re-sharpening.0 -

I have two CRKT knive's: Sampson's K.I.S.S. and a Desert Color Hissatsu.
I love them both but the KISS is for light duty only in my opinion, due to the nature of the design, If you squeeze it too tight it is very easy to accidently re-fold it (possibly on your fingers).
I do plan on getting another Hissatsu and an Ultima. The local Fry's store carries a good selection of CRKT at good prices.0 -
Benchmade makes a great knife. I've carried the same one now for 10 years and it's still as tight as it was when new. 0 -
I have a small Kershaw Ken Onion assisted opening knife that I carry.
Pretty sharp and handy if you ask me. I got it at Wally World0
