What 22 bolt would you buy?
I'm looking for a bolt action 22LR. I want a cheap, but good one and it MUST have iron sites and possibly drilled for a scope in case I decide to stick one on. I'm planning on shooting it alot so I may go for a new one. I'll primarly use it for punching holes in paper or cans but I want an accurate one too. I was thiniking on a Marlin but thought I would see what everyone else's thoughts were so let me hear it!! Thanks[:D]

Marlin 925 is best bang for the buck. Savage with accutrigger is nice also but not sure if they come with sights on them . 0 -

Pricewise on a new one I would go with a Marlin. I have a Rem. 582 that is very accurate also. 0 -

I like the Marlin also. But I also have a Russian Bolt action I bought new, It has a match barrel. I payed like $100 for it and am very happy with its accuracy. I forget the name if it, But I picked it up from Centerfire. But if you are not set on a bolt, Ruger 10/22 are also nice. BPS had a sale on them a little while ago for like $170.

Mossburg military trainer. Tack drivers. Not sure what cheap is. Back a while ago Romanina (spell) .22's were brought in country and were about 100.00. I had several and they shot pretty well IMHO 0 -

While I love my CZ-452 if I wanted a 22LR bolt with iron sights right now I would buy the Charles Daley made by Zastava.
It is being discontinued as Remington will be their US made gun now so Daley is out but it is high quality (Sorry, marlin in tinny) equal, IMO, to the CZ
Closed out so I would not wait long.
I think the wholesale was $150.00

The savage that I have is a tack driver it's about ten years old but it does have iron sightsand groved for scope mounting savage MARKII 0 -

Mossberg 44's ARE tack drivers- but I am trying to buy one for my granddaughter, so please wait awhile before bidding on any here [:p] The Marlin 81 or 81DL's are also very good plinkers, and won't break your purse. Check some of the used rifles for sale here. Either one will shoot better than most shooters. Not a bolt action, but for a bit more, buy a Marlin 39 lever action- rifle that your grandkids can still be shooting. My grandkids are still shooting the Marlin 39 that Mom bought my Dad for their first wedding anniversary. In 1935. Don't think a pickup truck could hold all the 22 ammo that has been thru that rifle. 0 -
Lots of good ones, but you can't beat the Marlins for accuracy versus cost. Triggers stink, but can be fixed. 0
