are tasco scopes anygood
i bought a new rifle that came with a new tasco 6-24x50 adjustable illuminated mil dot scope. this is a world class tasco scope. are they any good. this will be on a 22-250 heavy barrel. a friend has the same scope on his 30-06 and he can hold a 1 inch group at 100 yards with his. just kinda wondering if it can hold out with the recoil of a 22-250. i have herd that there crap and have herd that there good. now i want opinion from experience with tasco scopes. not just here say.. thank

I've only had one, and it works just fine on my .356 cal Winchester Model 94AE. I've beat it around quite a bit, and it is just fine. It is hard to beat the cost of a variable power Tasco. 0 -

In a trade several years ago I ended up with an old Marlin 336 30-30 with a 29.00 Tasco Prongrhorn scope. The scope was going to be taken off and possibly put on a rimfire or some pellet rifle or whatever and I was going to restock the Marlin because of a crack in the butt stock.
I took the rifle the way it was with the 29.00 tasco and some of my handloded 30-30 rounds to the 100 yard range and first group was under an inch.
I thought *man I got lucky on that group* and then shot another very similar group. and then another.
I thought to myself that many men spend alot of money and effort, Me Included, to come to this end so I never did anything with the rifle or scope and today it still has the 29.00 Tasco scope and cracked stock.0 -
Tasco scopes are a great value for the money and you have the top model. Your 22-250 will not bother it as you have seen with your buddies 30-06. I have only had a problem once with a Tasco, it was with their bottom of the line 3-9X40. I had it mounted to a Ruger Mini-30 that I did a bunch of rapid fire with, well the reticle came loose one day. I sent the scope back to Tasco and they fixed it free of charge, they even sent it back with a new set of scope covers. That was 15 years ago and it is still holding up great. 0 -

The World Class and the World Class Plus (I'm not sure they make this one still)scopes are good bargains for the money. I think that the Tasco WC scopes before Tasco was bought out a few years ago are better built. I have used the WC plus 3x9 on a 30-06 with no problems and several WC 3x9's on 22's through 223's and one 6x24 mil dot on an AR15 223 without problems. 0 -
I've had a few die over the years after lots of abuse... rifle being dropped, rattling around behind the seat of a pickup truck with no case, etc. Most of the time the damage was either to the crosshairs - one breaking off, etc. - or to the adjustments.
Just got a new Savage 93fv in 22mag, put a tasco "pronghorn" 3-9x on it....0 -

You usually end up replacing those. I broke one on a 10/22
pretty funny.
buy a simmons better for the $, but I would save for a used leupold or burris.
I did not care for the super sniper, just so you know. there is so much hype about the, and the adjustments were the most impercise of any scope i have used
simmons .22 mag has been pretty good.0
