To Sell or not to Sell: OIF/OEF Pogs
I hate fleabay. I go there as little as possible unless I can find something REALLY cheap (like a chrome stash tube for the Harley that sells there for 1/3 what HD is asking).
I have a few pogs that they give soldiers in OIF or OEF for change when shopping at the AAFES outlets there. It's cheaper to ship the POGS than it is to ship coinage to Iraq and Afghanistan. Most pogs aren't marked OIF or OEF but simply bear an AAFES logo, what they are worth (5, 10, or 25 cents) and usually some kind of photo in the background. 2 of mine are marked OIF and 2 are marked OEF. I've been told that they are serious collector items. However, I'm sure the craze will wear off. They're just cardboard. I'm thinking about selling them on Gunbroker or some other auction site where they might bring some $$$.
Should I sell or keep them? Heck, I haven't even searched the auction sites to see what they are bringing. The girl behind the counter at the PX was the one that told me to keep the ones marked OIF or OEF instead of spending them there. I had a bunch left over and used a stack of them to buy some toiletries.

Keep one of each - you were there after all right? - and sell the others/rest. 0 -
Guess I'm stupid? What are POGS? 0 -
They're paper cardboard circles that replace coins in-theater. I still have a bunch from my deployment that I can't do anything with because the closest AAFES store is 2 1/2 hours away. 0 -
I see, so they would be worth something down the road huh? 0 -
not worth the trouble to sell. 0
