Lost my little cocker spaniel, Abby, this morning

She was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago all thru her nose and into her brain. This morning, she was in obvious pain so I took her to the vets and they put her to sleep. She was a sweet little dog and I will miss her. I hope that wherever dogs go when they die, she has found her old pal Springer who died two years ago.

Went through it two years ago. My kids were devastated.

So very sorry for your loss. I make a point to celebrate every day with my dog for just this reason; even under the best circumstances, they are not here long enough. Just be glad for the time you had and to know what you two have had. Abby was a treasure.

I lost my german shepard a month ago....I hate this stuff...sorry for your loss. Really sorry. I got another german shepard. He makes me feel better. Maybe you should do the same[;)]

Sorry to hear of your loss. Some on this board will not sympathize with you, but just ignore them. Pets are like family to most of us.

cocker spaniels are great dogs. i had one. the sad part is they seem to be very prone to medical problems which is a shame cause they are such sweet dogs.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost an old spaniel that my father gave me. He took a hit of lightening and expired. The loss was very bad for a youngster.

Sorry for your loss Chris. My parents still have our family dog from when I grew up. He is a Cocker Spaniel and is 14 years old this year. It won't be long before he goes as well. One of these days me and my girlfriend are going to get one. It is amazing how they become part of the family.

Dogs are such great friends. Last year I was just starting to look at my dog and think about how much I was going to hate to watch him grow old.

I just wish that the natural lifespans of our furry companions were not so short relative to our own.
