0900 in Kuwait and 0018 here

and I am awaiting news from my new employer Kuwait Drilling Co, they did the "godfather" thing on me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. What could I do but accept!
Now just waiting to here the definite plans, yesterday they wanted me to depart 4 August.
I just hope they don't schedule me on any Kuwaiti Air flights as they aredryand it's not a comuter flight from Frankfurt or Amsterdam, not that I'm a real big drinker but I enjoy a scotch or two or three on long hauls.

    if you were going from amsterdam you could hit a coffeshop and be relaxed the whole flight.

    this is true, years ago we would go "window" shopping on long layovers there and get a haircut with extras that would leave us relaxed for our next flight and something to talk about during our hitch.

    It was 134 degrees there yesterday. Probably a little cooler at the port though. Mrs Rogue gives me daily updates.

    Sure do miss her, she's been gone a year now.

    Oh, and if its 0018 here, it's 0718 in Kuwait. Unless of course you're not on Eastern time. (seven hours difference)

    RR, yep, mine is a different here I have a 9 hour difference as I'm on Mountain Time.

    When Mrs.Rogues DEROS?

    Not looking forward to returning to a blast furnace, last place I dealt with temps near that was in the area between the Aral and Caspian seas,

    [8D]-My son, while in the Air Force (recon 15) the UAV (Predator) squadron, was in Kuwait 3 times and Balad Air Base (Bagdad) twice--

    --Now He'e out and working for a private contractor (5 year contract), doing the SAME THING, probably in Kuwait/Balad-I don't know and of course he can't tell me !!

    --Thats AVIONIC's for the active Predators, but he can't carry the m16 he was trained with--BUMMER

    She has EXTENDED for another year! She decided that since I was deploying the month she was supposed to return home, that she would go ahead and extend so that we could be in the same hemisphere and MAYBE get a chance to see each other a time or two. She has the opportunity to make trips up to Balad or Kabul on the off-chance I am stationed around one of those places.

    It's gonna be tough for us but we'll make it.
