My buddy did his kitchen in it. It is really nice and noticeably warm.
The dogs are always sleeping in the middle of the kitchen.

Another friend is finishing his basement into a bar, he is also laying this heated flooring down.

It's really nice, wish I would have done that to my bathroom.

I first learned about this stuff two years after I laid my bathroom tile. I wish to hell I had it in there when the wind chill is minus 5.

They have been doing that sort of thing on This Old House, but I don't recall them installing electric heating. I lived in a house with a finished basement. Floors were terazzo and and had hot water tubing below. Made for really nice warm floors and even heat, but repairing a blockage was a major pain.

My shop has Pex tubing running through the concrete floors. There is a 96% efficient water heater in there to heat the water and a small pump to move the water. You can open all the doors to let all the warm air out, then close the doors and 10 minutes later it's 70 degrees again in the shop.

    It's very efficient.

Our son-in-law does a lot of renovation work out in BC, and he did the warm ceramic tile floor thing in their own place ... wow, it is nice! Especially, when you just need a little heat, oh man, it is sweet on the feet! Am I getting poetic?
