Close to the actual Russian/E German/Bulgarian Makarovs as you can get ? Reliable ? Not as tough as the real Maks ?
Compared to the two-tone PA-63's ?
Anybody have any insight on these ?
Looks like it would be nice target smacker, farm plinker, stump whoppper.
I just had a good offer on one and at under 150$ with paperwork, taxes its hard to pass up.

I have no experience with the Makarov pistols. I would stay away from the P63, it has the worst(heaviest) double action trigger pull I've ever seen. I bought one last year and I'm going to trade it off. 0 -
Yep, I've held a few 63's and a good site I've noticed gives them a lil' "smithing" to bring them around.
A 63 is even cheaper than the 64 in question.0 -
The P64's are well made for the price and what they are. A little smaller than a real Makarov. Nice finish on the unissued ones I've handled. As accurate as any other small pistol. The ones I've shot were reliable, never had a feed problem out of any of them. Has a little bit of snap because of its small size and weight. Poor sights and the felt recoil, IMO, put this pistol in the same category as a KelTec (carry/glovebox pistol), not so much a target pistol. Easily concealable. Ammo availible, but not as much so as 9mm (9x19), you won't find it at Wally World. Not as many choices either. The DA trigger pull is extremely heavy, more so than my KelTec p-11 even. The SA trigger pull is very nice and light, short and crisp. Another poster pointed out that replacement parts might be hard to come by, maybe its only real drawback, but the price offsets that a little. Overall, for the price, I think they are a good buy and seem well enough made. For the price you were offered I'd get it if you were in the market for an inexpensive pistol.

great little pistol . DA pull is way to heavy, and they kick hard and are heavy for a PPk size pistol. But they are amazing accurate, affordable and reliable.
You are supposed to be able to work on thrigger by replacing spring0
