Marlin 336
I came across a 336 in 35 Rem. I paid $165 for it. It is a 1951 production rifle and shoots good. I decided to try some of the new Leverevolution ammo for Hornady. Problem I have is that with the rear sight on its lowest notch, it still shoots about 3" high at 100 yds. Probably going to get a willams peep sight for it. I guess I could try a different front blade too.[:)]

I'm looking at a website
that is selling a 30-30 with this
description: RS; 23.5"; HALF MAG, GRYD RCVR.
What does GRYD RCVR mean?
Thanks

You could also try some standard ammo. That might make up for some of that 3".
Good deal on a great gun.0 -
I did shoot some handloads that came with the rifle amd they were right on at 100 yds. The rear sight was set on the middle notch. I think it must be the pointed bullet that changes the point of aim. 0 -
Real good deal. Leverlution shoots MUCH flatter than standard ammo. 0 -
see were it hits at 200 yards. Leverevolution is much flater ars11b said it may drop right in the bulls eye at 200 [:p][:p][:p] 0 -
The Hornady website claims "3" high at 100=dead on at 200". Mine is 2" high at 100 and 2.5 low at 200. Works perfect for me but mine is scoped. 0 -
I have a 336 in 30-30.
I purposely sight it in 1" high at 100 yards and figure it to be just about dead on at 150 yards which is about the longest shot I will take with it at a deer.0 -
I will give it a try at 200! Thats probably as far as I would shoot anyway. I don't see the sights very well nowadays. I thought a peep might be better. Thanks for the hints![:)][:)] 0 -
