Absolutely amazing history, J.M. was...the consumate gun gatherer of all times.

Imagine a hotel (how many stories, Pat ?..4..5 ?) that gradually had to be closed..as the rooms filled up with guns...
Claims are that BOXCARS of gun were collected down South...and made their stop first in Claremore so Davis could take first picks...

I think 4 but can't remember for sure. I was talking to the lady working there today and she said they don't know what the collection is worth but estimates are between 35 -65 million dollars, But I think it would be much higher. I was looking at 1 case that held around $250,000 worth of Colt Single actions. But collectors would go crazy over Jesse James pistol or the Emmett Daltons, Bonnie Parker, Belle Starr guns. What are Thompsons going for I saw 4 or MP 40s 7 of them Lewis guns Antitank rifles Vicker MGs or a vintage gatling gun. Just looking through the window at the open storage room of floor to ceiling rifles and pistols they don't have room to display.

I grew up in Tulsa; I have been there many times, even when the collection was in the hotel. The rooms were literally decorated when firearms. There is no way of knowing how many walkwed out the before the museum was built. Apparently some have left since the museum was built also.
