Fighting a bad debt?Knuckle up fitness
Hey guys-
I would like some creative (and non-terroristic) ways to force my gym to honor the admendment they agreed to when I joined. I know I should not have entered a contract for a gym, but they were they only game for what I needed.
Anyway, they agreed to "freeze" my account, but define "freeze" as keeping billing me (NOT in the contract) and I cant use the gym (I am out of town forever now anyway)They had agreed to not bill me if I had to move for a job
I successfuly disputed charges, changed my cc #, filed complaints with sec of state, BBB, and Federal trade commision, and ripoff report.com and written a letter to the president of the gym.
Noone with the ability to stop billing will ever talk to me, but I sent a Fair Debt Collection Practices Letter saying not to send me any more bills also.
What else can I do? Besides wait for them to ding my credit, then sue?

Do you have anything in writing? They can't report you to a collection agency.
Write letters, keep copies, send certified. That's all. You can sue but what are you hoping to get out of it?
Anyways, they can bill you all they want, if you told them you don't want their services anymore and you're not using them, they have no basis to collect anything from you, if they still do, like I said, write a letter to stop billing, send certified, make sure everything is in writing, then safely ignore them.

I have everything in writing including admendment they signed, just sent out all letters certified today. 0
