Vulcan 223?
At the local shop yesterday and they had a Vulcan 223 for $1100
Came home and checked the broker and they had one for $775 starting
bid.I never heard of this brand and would like to know how it stacks up against bushmaster/armalite and others and about the price?
It was similar to this one but had more rails and a better shoulder stock. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=75739462
I did not leave empty handed,re-stocked my ammo with the wifes blessing!

Pretty sure Vulcan is the new name for Hess ...
The other name for Hess is ... well, to put it nicely they are poop0 -
can anyone confirm the poop part? 0 -
I never had one but they have a bad rep. For 1100 you can get a DPMS, Bushmaster, or RRA. And great customer service. I also have an Olympic that has been a great rifle for me. 0 -
Thanks! Just would love an AR so bad but dont wont to jump in to it blind! 0 -
Even for $775+, you can get into a "known" brand ... so you are not jumping in blind.
Try asking about Vulcan over at AR15.com0 -
PASS, do not try to save $100 and waste 700
do a search in experts
inconsistant quality, out of spec parts, gas holes, takedown pins not lining up etc0 -
i was planning on an M1 for the next purchase, but i figure you at least need one .223 rifle, and as i dont have one, i think im gonna go with a stag AR. im really only looking to spend 700-800. any ideas about the stag, not trying to hijack the thread but i beleive were both in the same boat. 0 -
Since we are on the topic, what, if any, are the major quality differences in RRA vs Colt? I am looking to get an AR and was considering both but with a preference to the Colt. 0 -
stag is fine, most are the same with different stamps
RRA is my fav now
Colts are good, but overpriced and I hate the non milspec front pins on the civillian models0
