Missing 15 years! His name is kind of fitting!
BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Authorities have identified bones found in a car submerged in a canal as a those of man who disappeared 15 years ago.
Barry Fish was reported missing Nov. 11, 1992. Investigators now believe he lost control of his silver 1986 Mercedes coupe and careened into the canal. They do not suspect foul play.
Palm Beach County sheriff's detectives were searching the canal Dec. 4 during their investigation of another case.
Instead, they found the Mercedes with Fish's bones still buckled into the driver's seat.
Detectives used the car's registration and dental records to identify him this week.
"This has given us closure, but you really never put this behind you," said Fish's brother, Larry. "There wasn't a day that went by when I didn't think of him and wonder what happened."

Had a similar case. I was diving in a canal looking for a 15 yr. old
kid that had disappeared during the night from an autism home for
kids. Visibility was zero, bumped into a car. Been down there for
about 3 years. Sad part is we found the kid also. He got out thru
an unlocked door in the middle of the night and fell into a big
drainage canal 15 ft deep, 40yds across.0 -
I think Mercedes has a brake recall on their 1986 models. 0 -
After watching an episode of mythbusters about escaping from a car submerged in water my GF wanted one of those window emergency breaker things, I told her "how often do you think that really happens!"[:0]

I am glad I wasn't in on that recovery operation!
My buddy lives up in South Dakota. He said it is not too unusual for someone to go missing during a blizzard.
They find them in the spring when the snow melts. Missed a turn and went through the ice and into the river, two feet of snow fell on the river that night, bye bye until April.0 -

The 1986 Mercedes actually did have a recall concerning brakes. It had to do with the parking brake mechanism. Seems it could slip out of position. It would be intresting to know if the car was in neutral when it was found. 0
