I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the crosshair configurations and what each one looks like. Is there a chart or something.

  Decent chart. Manufactuers may use proprietary names and there may be minor variations, but those get most except some specialties like Shepard scopes and older rangefinding Redfields.
