Should I stay away from Universal? Are are the Kahr ones worth it?

i recently bought an m1 carbine to keep my garand company. there are not markings on this rifle except the serial number on the back of the reciever and the letters "ufc" under the serial number. i did a search on ufc an didnt come up with anything. have any of you ever heard of ufc and if so, what kind of company are they? 0 -
I am looking for a way to cary M1 Carbine mags. I have the stock pouch that holds 2-15rd mags. I am looing for a good way to hold 6 or so more mags. I would prefer a way to carry 30rd mags, but 15rd mags would work. I have seen the belt pouches that hold 2-15rd mags, but never anything for 30's. How were they carried in WW2? So far the best I have come up with is an SKS 10 pocket stripper clip pouch reworked a bit. 0 -
i read an article in a magazine a few years back where someone was tinkering with these and converting them to shoot pistol ammo such as 44 mag. they said they could even use origional mags just had to do some minor modification to them. only problem was the stocks kept cracking from the recoil. ive wondered for a while why none ever tried necking the 30cal cartridge down to take 223 bullets. (at least ive never heard of it being done) would be on par with the 5.56 no? how hard would it be to do this? 0 -
I was wondering if any one new more info on this m1 . Plainfiled m-1 serial 55030 what year it was made etc. I know plainfield were made from 1960 to 1977 i think. [:D]
Thomas Jefferson, of Virginia:
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."0 -
There's been a few like Universal...
If you want one, get your requirements set up proper and get one from the CMP when they have 'em again.0 -
Stay away from the "IAI's" J U N K..... 0 -

The auto ordinance (Kahr) M1 carbines look to be well made, full wood furniture, no bayonet lug, currently in production, retail around $650-700. Eyed one just last week and was very tempted.0 -
