    Sad to say that it will not be much longer before we do not have any WWI or WWII vets around to pass on the stories![:(][:(][:(][:(]

    The last WWI Vet who shipped out to 'Over There' in 1918 passed a few months ago - he was 16 when he enlisted (twice - the first time he was caught and sent home) and although in France, he saw no combat. His name's slipped me but I read some interesting stories about him a few months ago.

    I remember the last Civil War soldier to pass away was in 1956 - when I was eleven - Albert Woolson, of Minnesota. He was a Union drummer boy and the Civil War's last authenticated survivor.

    I should try to get my dad on here hes a ww2 vet i bet he would love to tell his stories from the navy.

    A few of my fathers friends are WWII vets. When we get together the conversation always ends up about war stories, and I love it every time.[:)]

    my dad won't talk about it, if you ask him he just hangs his head, shakes it off, and with a tear welling in his eye, says, dam son, that was rough. i know he landed on many islands in the south pacific,fighting japanese to the death[;)][V]
