In Chicago 90 percent of the old buildings have lead pipe drains that makes great bullets. Copper and Brass are in great supply. They are also in great demand so the price goes up.

Cast your own lead pistol bullets and save the planet.[:D]

How do I go about gettin some of them there pipes?

Can someone like me justify the price of the casting equipment and lead exposure? I probably shoot a couple thousand rounds a year.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc.
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin.

    I have a barrel of pre-81 pennies.

    No sweat.

Copper is a finite resource. Scientists are working diligently on synthetic substitutes that have electrical properties as good as copper. A good source to get lead for bullets is auto dealers shops, tire dealers, etc., ask them for the used wheel weights. They make great bullets.

ALL resources are finite. In the case of copper, visit Morenci AZ, or the Bingham Canyon mine is Utah. The question is not is it there, but how much it costs to produce it. If market value is less than cost of production, it stays in the ground. Got any idea what the gas mileage is on a triple 7 off road dump truck ???

Better visit Hurley/Bayard while you're touring copper mines; Kennecott owned the largest open pit copper mine in the US until they sold it to the current owners.
