The NRA requests your permission....
to send me all kinds of email. Has anyone gotten this email from NRA? Do you get email from them? If so, what kind? I would like to keep apprised of their actions (or inactions) but I don't want a boatload of spam everyday just because I was naive enough to say yes, send me whatever you want. Thoughts/opinions would be very welcome.

I don't get email from anyone else and I get all the NRA emails, I don't think they sell your email address. 0 -
I decline to receive extra crap from them. Their website is sufficient to keep me apprised of their actions (or inactions).[;)]
You need to be careful, you may be accused of joining we "NRA-Bashers"0 -

And thus my question. I am probably the single most paranoid person on the planet and make it a rule NEVER to click yes, so I didn't in this case either. I am just really curious as to the experiences of others when it comes to the NRA and what/how much email one could actually expect from them. Do you get valuable info, or is it just commercial stuff and endless berating for more $$$$? While I am not a "basher", I have come to realize a certain level of... shall we tactfully call it - skepticism. I have very grudgingly come to question just how much faith I should have in the NRA and just how many things they do in the interest of the almighty $$$$.0 -

Quite possibly the beginning signs of "an awakening".
Happened to me a handful of years ago. Some of my old NRA related posts are supportive of the NRA, but preach caution and a degree of skepticism.0 -

O.K. Man, put down the mouse and step back a sec; you're alright now.
The reality of any "action" is that to make the largest impact on America's Dumbest Population (Congress); you must raise such a hue and cry that everyone notices they can't receive e-mail anymore 'cuz their box is full. I don't think the NRA will send you mountains of useless crap/spam, but if they do; you can "uncheck" the box and update your member rep about it.
Just about ANY website you hit can attach itself to your addy and send you stuff; it's how they get around the part of the new law that says they can only solicit from folks they've done business with, and a visit to the site counts.
Point is, the NRA(and all of America) is going into yet another Presidential Election Cycle, and it is important to raise as much cash as possible to get out the word with bumper stickers, yard signs, etc. for the candidates that won't run willy-nilly with our rights.
I think we're in for another lackluster show this time because people don't bleening vote, and, well, I HOPE it's not gonna be That One!0 -
So lets see, here...all you gun supporting, NRA types are gonna vote for Fred, or some such...demonstrated sqishy-on-gun-Rights types.
All because we want a good, solid "Second Amendment' supporter in the big White House.
Like bush..and all he has done for our gun rights.0 -

Thank you. That is the kind of info I am looking for.0 -
I'd be glad to send a Gmail (google mail) invitation to anyone who wants one. Just ask.

HB-good to see you posting again, but maybe you posted a reply on the wrong thread?
Your post makes less sense in this thread than any I've seen.0
