" Free" for a reloader

I have 140 rounds of 30-06 and 50 rounds of .357. Free to any reloader in the Mason , Michigan area who might want them for the components." The ammo was given to me by a buddy at work." He later said that after loading a batch of ammo he allways placed the loaded ammo in the tumbler for a few hours to clean off any die lube.
in my opinion this ammo is not safe to use in its present form and may cause very high pressure. If anyone is interested in pulling yhe bullets and replaceing the powder. and will take the time to pick them up they can have them.[?]

    Some say tumbling Loaded ammo will make it unsafe to shoot. They say that the powder is broken down and can cause over pressure. Some say tumbling loaded ammo makes shinny shooting ammo. They say it does not hurt the powder. This like an AR vs AK thread.

    The only reason to break it down would be that you don't trust his powder type/charge. The tumbling part dosn't bother me a bit (why should it, the factory gives a tumble polish to there loaded ammo).

    I think that the issue is tumbling vs. vibratory tumbling. IIRC, factories use conventional tumbling (i.e. slow speed turning with polishing media).

    The question is whether vibratory tumbling causes the coating that dampens the burn rate on some powders will be worn off the powder, therefore causing the powder to burn faster, therefore, higher pressures. I for one do not want to test that theory.

    Break it down. Tumbling is irrelevant in this case. What DOES matter is NEVER shoot "OPR's". Other People's Reloads.

    have you ever opened a box of cereal that has been treated poorly, and it all was settled down to the bottom and was somewhat crushed?



    gunpowder can to similar things when tumbled, not only can it change shape and possibly compact its size but it can also change the boiler room in the case
