New camera...pic test
Bear with me. I'm still in film mode, but Cath got a digital and neither of us know how these new fangled things work. Even scanning pics, sizing is a problem, so please cut me some slack and give me any help that you can. Here goes.

..Thanks Lorne. That's a Mod. 70 lightweight carbine in .223 that I bought new in the early '80s. Added a Harris bipod and a Burris 3-9 scope, and haven't felt the need to change a thing in over 20 years. It likes 4198 and any bullet from 50 grains on up. I even worked up a load with 70 grain Speers that took a Wisconsin whitetail, though beyond 100 yards, the heavy bullets get squirrely. 0 -

hey tap does that bipod steady it up quite a bit? i've noticed a little shaking the older i get, thought about using one for my .243. shure is frustrating for me. do you like it ? think it will help? 0 -

...I have to have a bipod, tree, fencepost....anything. I use a cane to walk sometimes, and that support makes a fine "shooting stick". Some newer models from Harris and others have a traverse built in. You can swing left or right without scooting the bipod feet. That's the way to go. Unless your barrel is free floated (mine is), a little torque on the stock can play hell with your point of impact. The legs adjust independently on most all of them, and it only takes a couple seconds to level out on a sloped truck hood.
...Bottom line: the little bit of weight that the bipod adds is well worth it. Just stay away from the cheapo, clamp on the barrel, one size fits all types. My Harris is attached to the front swivel stud, but has its own stud on it, so you can still use a sling.0 -

...Hawk...I'm the last one you'd want directions from. There's a sticky over on the "want ads" board that helps, but for tech dummies like me, it's still pretty complicated sounding. Black Roses spelled it out in language that can be understood, and I'm sure someone else can also. People take too much for granted. We need literal step by step directions, without the tech terms that are taken for granted by most. 0 -
